Come, be awed and
inspired by the achievements of visionaries, adventurers, artists,
scientists, and other women who challenged the limitations of their
own generations…and changed the way we look at our world.
Hear the dazzling
adventures of amazing women explorers, re-discovered by Milbry Polk
— author, journalist, explorer, photographer, and speaker at WIM’s
January dinner event. Share the pride and courage of pioneering
women who led us into new worlds — into the skies and remote lands,
in art and science — and often remained in obscurity, until Milbry
Polk retold their stories.
About our speaker:
Milbry Polk is the author of nine books, including Women of
Discovery, Egyptian Mummies, and Looting of the Iraqi Museum. Her
own fascinating explorations have been recognized with Fellowships
in the Royal Geographic Society and The Explorers Club. She is a
founder of Wings Trust, dedicated to promoting the contributions of
extraordinary women explorers, around the world and across the
centuries.
